A diverse range of interior sensing methods, including cameras, radars, and other alternative sensors are already equipping vehicles on our roads today. To ensure driver safety, these technologies are developed to observe driver and occupant actions, as well as cognitive states, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of his/her fitness to operate a vehicle. This presentation examines the incorporation of advanced interior sensing technologies to assess the driver’s ability to drive in real-time, with the ultimate goal of enhancing road safety.
