Francesco Biondi is Assistant Professor at the University of Windsor - Faculty of Human Kinetics. His research focuses on the assessment of the demand and usability of automotive infotainment and advanced assistance systems. Francesco holds a Master in Cognitive Science and a Ph.D. in Human Factors. He worked at Jaguar Land Rover as a Human Factors expert in the design and development of the HMI for voice systems, collision avoidance systems and highly-automated vehicles.
His work examines how users interact with human-machine interfaces, in a variety of applied domains. I leverage my background in Cognitive Science to understand how attention functions when allocated to multiple concurrent activities. As a Human Factor Researcher, he conducts ergonomic assessments of user interfaces, and contribute to the development of adaptive, user-centered systems. In my everyday job, I make use of a variety of assessment techniques to measure user qualitative and quantitative performance as well as their psychophysiological activity.
