Jennifer Brace

User Experience Research Supervisor, Ford Motor Company

I've been working at Ford my entire automotive career and have had the pleasure of working on some exciting projects. From 2006 to 2013 I worked on the HMI team defining, testing and refining the user interface of the MyFord Touch and SYNC 3 systems. This role allowed me the opportunity to collaborate with well respected companies in the industry - Microsoft, Ideo, Razorfish, Team Detroit, Teleca, Latcha, B-Square to name a few. I have also had the pleasure to be a spokesperson for the product at many tech and auto shows as well as appearing in two national commercials.

Following my stint in the HMI group I decided to take a look at another side of the company and moved over to marketing as the Connected Technology Product Marketing Manager. That position allowed me to learn about our marketing organization and work closely with product planning, IT and product development. There I was able to work on in vehicle technology and app development with a strong focus on the customer's point of view.

Along the way, I was able to add the role of volleyball coach to my resume. Working with the high school girls in a field that I'm quite passionate about has been extremely rewarding.

2015 brought about a big change, I moved to the Ford Research and Innovation Center Palo Alto to lead the User Experience Research team. My team includes qualitative and quantitative research, interaction design and immersive prototyping development/testing. Our job is to help arm teams with customer data to guide projects in a human centered way. I absolutely love getting to focus on the customer and represent their voice during the development process.
