Session

Vibration and Acoustic Emission Criteria for Integrating Automotive Sensor Systems

Case Study

Monday, December 08

10:50 am - 11:15 am

Live in Dearborn, Michigan

Less Details

As advanced sensors like lidar and radar become integral to modern vehicles, understanding their mechanical and acoustic behavior is essential. This session introduces the concept of blocked force as a diagnostic tool for evaluating structure-borne noise from sensor hardware. It also addresses sound power as a key parameter in assessing airborne noise emissions. Attendees will gain insight into how these metrics influence sensor placement, integration, and compliance with automotive NVH standards. The presentation will also highlight relevant testing protocols and supplier requirements that support quieter, more stable in-cabin environments.

In this presentation, you will learn:

  • How blocked force reveals structure-borne noise from sensor hardware
  • Why sound power matters in sensor-related acoustic performance
  • Standards and tests guiding sensor NVH validation and sourcing
